Product Sort Order

First, that is not the All Listing ... that is the Index Listing ...

As such, the Date field is not even used in this listing so it would need to have the code customized ...

I once wrote this up on how to do the customization of the Index Listing to use Sort Orders not originally designed for this ...

It may be awhile before I find that or someone else happens to recall where I did that ...

Or ... perhaps someone would like to redo all of the work to make this happen, as it can be custom coded ...

By default, the Product Listing does not have an option for the default display order to be by date as there is already a New Products listing that has that available ...

You would need to custom code this option as a method of default display ...

I would have to sit down and write all of the code for making the products_date_added work as a default setting for the Product Listing ...

You can look at how this is managed in the:
/includes/index_filters/default_filter.php

The sorting for the default is set around the section that starts with:

// set the default sort order setting from the Admin when not defined by customer
