News Box

Hi I need to have two boxes appear on my shop homepage, one for news and one for top sellers. The News box is the main concern here. The box needs to appear on the right of the page and I need to be able to switch it off on pages within the shop. The box needs to be able to pull news information as a feed (I'll use feedburner for the feed) from a wordpress blog and display on the homepage only.

I cannot use the 'standard' right column of the page as I've had to customise this due to layout problems and so i could ensure certain items aren't displayed within the shop.

So can please can somebody help me with creating a custom box that I can display in the central area of the homepage, and not the left or right columns. Ideally I would like the box to use CSS float:right and then so I'm able to enter the code from feedburner.

For the center location - are you currently using the admin editable define_main_page.php file?

admin > tools > define page edtior > select main page

Hi yes I am using define_main_page in the admin

You will have to custom code another then and this is a bit too invloved to cover in a few forum posts

Ok, so it will handle all the CSS code in there too? Or will I have to make a separate stylesheet?

Define pages do not respect stylesheets so you will have to include it as inline styling

Inline styling will only apply to the contents and NOT to the container...

The container can be styled via the stylesheet as normal
