Can i have different image extension

Hi everyone

I didnt find any topic after searching for my question so i post it here:

I have newly started uploading pictures for my site. I am using .gif extension for product listing(small images), but for the large images i want to use .jpg.

This is because if i use .gif for large images, the quality is lost (which i understand why).

And vice versa. If i compress my small images to .jpg and still want the large images as .jpg, the small images is not shown with top quality.

I have read the tutorial for image preparation.

But is it not possible to have different extensions for the images? Because it does not show the large.
I thought zen only looks at the suffix (which is _LRG for me).

Can anyone please help me, any suggestion?

In the v1.3.x and earlier versions of Zen Cart, it only supports one filename extension per product.
If you need alternate filename extensions, you'll have to use an addon such as Image Handler.
