How do I only accept orders from US and Canada?

I need to be able to only accept orders from US and Canada.

What is the best way of doing this?

I'm bumping this because I need to know the answer as well... But I need to accept orders only from the US.

The way I did this (selling to UK only) was to delete all countries that I did not want. Can be done via SQL query, but safest way is by manually deleting them via admin panel.

Then you need to set up ZONES and ZONE DEFINITIONS, into which you put the remaining countries. This helps with shipping and tax configurations.

Could you possibly tell me specifically where in the admin I'd delete countries... And, where exactly they'd be added back in?

Or, are you saying that every country but US is deleted, and then you have to be sure to ADD the US as a zone for tax and shipping?

Okay, sorry... It's under Locations/Taxes - Countries...

But then the question is, do I have to add US back in somewhere? Or, just leave US, and then be sure the zones are set to US? (which they would be, because there's going to be just one zone, Minnesota, for taxing.)

Delete every country you don't want. If this just leaves you with USA, then that's fine.

In the COUNTRY of USA, make sure you have the states (zones) you wish to sell to. I don't live in the US, but I understand that different states have different sales tax regimes.

Someone with more knowledge of USA state taxes might be able to help you configure your zone definitions.

Does anyone know how to make the country choice NOT a drop-down menu, since I'm only taking orders from the one country? I haven't seen an option in the admin.

My store only accepts Canada & USA.... wow that took like 500 clicks... and a lot of time.... deleting all those countries!!!

Another simple way is to make a Zone for just the US and Canada and add it to all of your Shipping and Payment Modules ... so if not in the Zones they cannot checkout ...

NOTE: A nice note somewhere that says "We only ship to the US and Canada" on the site helps ...
