help question Hyperlink Ezy Page content

I'm definately a new zenner! Although I've used Joomla previously, so pretty quickly got a handle on how Zen Cart works.

However... this one has me stumped.

How can I hyperlink an Ezy Page from within a product desription?

I want to add a link to "more information".

What settings to I need to configure on Ezy pages for this to happen? Any?

A thousand thankyou's to whoever can answer this

Call up the EZpage you want to link to.

In your browser address bar you will see the url to that page:

    EG:
    Code:
    http://www.YOURWEBSITE.COM/index.php?main_page=page&id=16
...Copy that URL and paste it as

    Code:
    <a href="http://www.YOURWEBSITE.COM/index.php?main_page=page&id=16"> LINK TO MY EZPAGE</a>
In fact, you will probably only need to paste the link as
    Code:
    index.php?main_page=page&id=16
    ...not the full url.

    Thanks for your quick reply!

I know how to get a page url from Ezy Pages, though as I understand it when you create Ezy Pages, you need to specify if it as a Header, Footer or Sidebox. I dont want to locate the page in any of those, so what is the protocol when defining the Ezy page?

    Cheers from Aus.

If you don't want the ezpage to display in any of the three menu positions (header, sidebox, footer), then give these a sort order of " 0 " when you create the ezpage.

The page will still exist, but as there is no sort order for any of the menu options, it will not display as a link in these menus.

In your ezpages list (ADMIN>>>TOOLS>>>EZPAGES) you will see a column on the left showing the page ID.

It is this ID that you put into your URL, as shown in the URL example I gave earlier.

... alternatively, just click "No" for the menu option radio buttons - will do the same as sort order = 0 .

I worked it out. The dreaded cut and paste from a Word doc.

I cut and paste back into Notepad, and then back to the Ezy page and then formatted. Voila! Heiroglyphics gone.

Thanks for all your help fairescape. I really appreciate it.

    Cheers from Aus.

Yeah... I was going to say... DO NOT USE MS WORD to create HTML.

Get yourself a free HTML editor off the WWW.

MS Word wreaks havok with everything webbish - avoid it!
