Denying Coupons for Items on Promotion

I have a category set up called Promotions.

Whenever an item is price reduced, I copy it into that category and remove it at the end of the promotion.

I want to deny discount coupons to this category. I have done this in the restrictions area - but it is still allowing the coupons.

Help!

Is this because the deny rule only works for the master category in which a product is created? Please tell me this is not so...!!

There is a problem with Products in Linked Categories where the Discount Coupon is Denied on a Category that is not the master_categories_id ...

This is being worked on ...

The current solution is to put a Deny on the Product itself ...
