Attributes - disabling product option values

Hi,

Is there any way to disable an OPTION VALUE temporarily for a product, without having to delete the option from the product???

I have an Attribute THICKNESS....

with option values: 20cm, 30cm, 40cm, 50cm etc...

When i run out of a certain thickness it would be good to disable the option value so that no one can select it until i get more stock in.

Can this be done with ZC??

I know i can delete that option and add it back in again later on but i have a few hundred products so it can be a pain.

I also know that you can use the "DISPLAY ONLY" config which will force an error message when a customer selects it....but this method would be off-putting for users since they would essentially have to do a hit-and-miss process to find an option that is in-stock.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Disabling an Attribute or Option Value of an Option Name on a Product is *not* available at this time ...

I mean you are a puppy out of lucky ... the code has not been written to work this way, at this time ...

That idea gets my vote 100%

I know there is (are?) 3rd party mods for managing stock control by attribute, but having the ability to temporarily hide an attribute value manually is a simple solution that I am confident would make a LOT of people happy.
