    Default Attributes have disappeared

I started getting emails from customers today stating that there were no download files attached to their orders (.zip files). As of the day before everything was fine.

I go into our store and all the attributes that used to be assigned to products are gone. If you go into catalog > look at the product > click on the A it states "Downloads: none" The attributes were there yesterday. They aren't there today.

If we input something today, it works fine. Anything that was in there before yesterday is now.

    Any ideas?

Zen Cart only stores the name of the files ... you load the files via FTP to your server to your /download directory ...

You may wish to speak to your hosting site to see how the files were deleted off the server and see if they can discover anything ...

    Hi Ajeh,

    I need to clarify.

The zip files are on our server. Those are all accounted for and working fine.

The issue is directly in the store.

When you go into Attributes Controller it shows like the following:

    Download Zip #01
    1606 Download Zip #01 Zip Part #01 + 0.0000 + 0 0

    Download Zip #02
    1607 Download Zip #02 Zip Part #02 + 0.0000 + 0 0

    Download Zip #03
    1608 Download Zip #03 Zip Part #03 + 0.0000 + 0 0

    -----

The problem apparently started on the 24th. Before the 24th, each one of the above showed the correct .zip file attributed to it as well as the correct days to download and number of downloads.

Does that clarify this situation better?

When naming files, do not use spaces, special characters, etc.

You should also be seeing a line like:
    Filename: pdf_sample.zip Days: 7 Max: 5

In phpMyAdmin, browse the products_attributes_downloads table ...

Do you see a filename in each of the products_attributes_filename fields when you browse this table?

I guess I'm not explaining this correctly.

We do not use spaces, special characters. Before the 24th we had no issues. The example had 3 files properly attributed to it

    swam_file01.zip
    swam_file02.zip
    swam_file03.zip

After the 24th, everything attributed to it disappeared. It was not edited. It was not manually changed by anyone. It just disappeared and now what we see is what I posted above. I understand that I should see Days: 7 Max: 5. However, that too has disappeared.

    July 23, 2007 we had:

    Download Zip #01 Zip Part #01 + 0.0000 + 0 0

    Filename: swam_file01.zip Days: 7 Max: 5

    Download Zip #02 Zip Part #02 + 0.0000 + 0 0
    Filename: swam_file01.zip Days: 7 Max: 5

    Download Zip #03 Zip Part #03 + 0.0000 + 0 0
    Filename: swam_file01.zip Days: 7 Max: 5

After July 23,2007 all that information disappeared and now we have what I posted earlier.

I have checked the sql file and the names are not listed.... There are some file's listed, but the mass majority are gone.

I don't know what could have caused these all to be removed ... there isn't a feature in Zen Cart to remove them ...

Do you still have the Option Name(s) and Option Value(s) for these Attributes in the Option Name Manager and Option Value Manager?

    Yes, we still have these.

This issue has not happened to every single category. Example:

Actions category, all products have files attributed to them.
Page Kit category, all do not have files attributed to them...

so entire categories have been wiped out.

Would a corrupt database do this? If it is corrupt, do we need to look for anything else that could be corrupt as well?

    That could cause it ...

Or, if you were copying attributes you could of wiped things out ...

There are a lot of possibilities ...

You might try browsing the products_attributes_download table via phpMyAdmin and search on the field products_attributes_filename for a few of the missing filenames to see if somehow the linking information to the products_attributes_id has been messed up ...

If the filename is there, then something has broken the relationship ...

    Default Re: Attributes have disappeared

We went through our entire store and identified the products that were without attributes and fixed them all. We know that everything was 100% okay. We went through every single item.

We saw that the majority of issues were in a category titled "page kits". Today, orders were put through and once again attributes are being deleted. We are not deleting them. I've checked admin log and no one is doing this maliciously. But entire categories are losing attributes.

Any ideas, insight, help is much appreciated.

We are now seeing the following...

Do a search for an item. Click on the item that is in the master category. There are not attributes. But if you click on the one's that are in copied categories, the attributes are there.
