Not adding shipping costs on multiple items

I spoke too soon - per weight just added another shipping option- which we cant use

whatchu talk'n 'bout willis ...

What did it add that breaks this wonderful idea?

Ok products_id=115 = 0.13Kg
order one of those and ship to zone1 costs $6.50
If they order 2 of those I want the shipping to double as well as the purchase price..

What actually happens is this:

order one products_id=115 and the cart adds $6.50 shipping ( zone1)
change the order to 2 products_id=115 the cart still says $6.50 shipping

Shouldnt it go up?

So the cart is not adding up the weights....?

If you set the products_weight to 6.50 and order 1 you pay $6.50 ...

If you set the products_weight to 6.50 and order 2 you pay $13.00 ...

If you set the products_weight to 6.50 and order 3 you pay $18.50 ...

If you have:

Qty 2 Product Weight 1.45 = $2.90
Qty 4 Product Weight 1.00 = $4.00
Qty 3 Product Weight 0.50 = $1.50
Total Shipping Charge $8.40

Now clone the Per Unit perweightunit for another Zone and set the Unit rate to 2 ...
Qty 2 Product Weight 1.45 = $2.90 * 2 = $5.80
Qty 4 Product Weight 1.00 = $4.00 * 2 = $8.00
Qty 3 Product Weight 0.50 = $1.50 * 2 = $3.00
Total Shipping Charge $8.40 * 2 = $16.80

Clone again and use another Unit Rate for another Zone ...

II did mean "per unit per weightunit" not "ship by weight"

Thanks everyone - all valuable info.
But after re-quizzing the store owner as to WHAT EXACTLY is going wrong it seems I've been barking up the wrong tree entirely, and therefore been asking the wrong questions.

It seems NO shipping is been charged AT ALL for certain zones regardless of how many items are purchased. ( the owner assumed that because 3 items were purchased - that it was the cause of the problem )

So now that the title of this thread is totally irrelevant..

I have Belgium ( BE ) set in the zones but when shipping an item that weighs 0.47kg to Belgium the cart says "The shipping rate cannot be determined at this time"

I'm assuming this list of country codes is correct

Could you post all of the settings that you have for Zone Rates zone shipping module?

Also post your settings for the Shipping/Packaging ... that is, by default, configured for pounds ... you could have incorrect settings ...

Don't end each definition with a comma ...

Note: each definition that stops at a given weight means that anything over that weight is $0.00 ...

Do you not ship any orders over .80? You appear to have Products that have higher weights ...

When you say "definitions" are you referring to the zones weight/price list?

If so, what should I have in place of the comma - as it shows a comma in the edit window sample
Example: 3:8.50,7:10.50,... Weight/Price less than or equal to 3 would cost 8.50 for Zone 2 destinations.
Would I just have a space?
