Hi, I need to style the top search box and want to change the standard HTML search button to a graphic. Also I would like to be able to change other HTML buttons to graphics.
So please can somebody tell me which documents I need to edit in order to style the top search box and how to implement graphic buttons rather that boring grey html buttons.

In your site admin, under Configuartion/Layout Settings, way down at the bottom, make sure CSS Buttons is set to No. This will cause the cart to use the default set (or other set you've installed) of the graphic buttons.
Other aspects of the search box are styled in the stylesheet.css file.

Your own set of buttons goes into
/includes/templates/nameofyourtemplate/buttons/english
