Just recently moved from a development server to our live server and whenever I try to change the expiration date for featured products the change is not made in the database (ie setting exp date to 10-31-08 through admin but mysql has 0000-00-00).

Haven't changed anything else except for moving the site to a different server and followed the directions here (new install, overwrite files, import old db).
