Is this idea possible with Zen Cart?

Hi,

I have someone who is looking to make an online store selling images for digital download. My vision is that:

• Users can download an image in various sizes
• Once paid for the images can be downloaded from "Your account" on Zen Cart
• Users can pay by PayPal and will get an email when the download is ready

So.. as someone completely new to Zen Cart... is the above possible? Is it worth pursuing with Zen Cart?

Yes, this is possible with zencart, as ZC has a "virtual" products facility - most often used for software sales, but it will operate on the same basis with any "downloadable" file.

You can configure your downloads to be made available after payment has been made (eg: through paypal, and as you say, the images can be downloaded from the shoppers "My Account" section.

As I understand, Zen Cart is a common standard platform for digital scrapbooking sites, which operate exactly as you describe. So yes, I'd say it is possible ;)
