Banners linked to certain pages

Hi everyone,

I would like to have some control over the banners, is this possible.

So, for example if a advertiser wants to place a banner for a telephone, i would like it to appear on the telephone category.

There doesnt seem to be a facility to do this, can it be coded in any way?

This kind of customization is not specific to Zen Cart but you could build in additional controls for banners ...

There are numerous ways to do it ...

One method is to build your banner groups for each category and then alter the banner code to be more specific on which banner group is called ...

Right now, it is set to a banner group based on position ...

You want a banner group based on position and based on category ...

It would take some customization to achieve this ... are you much into coding in php?

We are keen to implement category - specific banners so could you expand at all on the code changes required?

I would have to write all of the code for this to break it down for you ...

You can do it by several methods, where the banners table holds the categories_id of where they can appear ...

While this functionality can be coded, it is not a simple change, so perhaps you would want to post in the Commercial Help Wanted to develop Banners with Category control ...
