Free shipping to one country only?

Ok, that worked great, thanks..

But now I have another related problem. How can I set up a shipping zone to send everywhere except one zone? Here is what I am trying to accomplish.


All orders over $100 in the lower 48 get Free shipping (this works)

All orders under $100 in the lower 48 get FLAT Rate shipping. this works

All orders outside the lower 48 use UPS shipping module. (On this I am clueless)

I also don't want to show the UPS shipping options to the people that are using flat rate or free shipping. Basically, I don't ever want to show UPS to anyone in the lower 48.

You need to build a Zone for the Rest of the World so that they see the USPS shipping and the 48 do not ...

Are you saying that I have to build a zone and enter every combination of country/province and the remaining states? I would think I would be here for the rest of my life entering this data :) Not to mention the database size when I get done. I must have misunderstood you.. Can you clairify? Remember, I am a NOOB and need some detail.

Or peek in the Free Downloads ... as I know I, as well as others, have posted the Rest of the World lists where you could probably use it (Backup first) and then update or tweak it a tad ...

Just use the existing UPS module and do not select a zone for it. This will make it available for all zones including not defined. If you need to make available UPS shipping in the 48 states with a special configuration you may need to duplicate the module and offer two configurations.

I never heard about creating a zone that includes ALL the world. It is an opening for all kinds of trouble and errors. Sorry Ajeh.

I am not sure why a Zone for everything except the 48 states is a problem ...

All that happens is that it does not show the module for the 48 states ...

All other locations are shown the module ...

When someone has an address from the 48 states they see the other module ...

What type of issues are you concerned with here?

The issue with setting up a zone for the rest of the world, you will need to type in (or import) the entire world's address book for countries and states. What shopping cart owner would like to take responsibility for such a thing?

What I am suggesting is to setup a shipping module for the 48 states and a shipping module for the rest which should not define or be linked to any zone. So what happens is that both shipping options will show for the 48 states but you make sure that the undesired one shows a pricier option while the rest of the world will show only one shipping option and this one will reflect UPS real time shipping plus any handling fees the owner wants.
