With a dedicated certificate, the settings you posted should work just fine.
If you're getting "connection refused" messages, those are coming from the webserver ... which means you'll need to talk to the server administrator to fix that. You'd likely get the very same error trying to access a plain .html file instead of the index.php that runs Zen Cart ... meaning the issue has nothing to do with Zen Cart. The refusal is happening before it even gets to Zen Cart.

    Hi All

I've just spoken to Fasthosts support. I've been told that I can't have a dedicated SSL when I'm hosted on a shared server. I have to use the Shared SSL certificate and folder. Is this correct?

    Thanks, Steve

    I'm not surprised.

That may be correct on *their* servers.

But ... other, more conventional, server configurations *do* allow dedicated-SSL on shared hosting.

IMO fasthosts is only good for someone putting up a blog or a photo gallery of their pets ... not for running a business.

Hello fellow zenners, can you tell me if you managed to get ssl working with fasthostt?

I have heard horror stories about them fro so many sources but to be honest, so far have not had any problems.

Can the shared ssl folder be configured to work with zencart?
Do you need to put the whole site under ssl folder?
