Sending email from different accounts

We're still in the pre-production testing phase with ZC. We're getting confirmation emails on new customers, referrals, orders, and lots of diagnostic emails from PayPal tests.

I'd like to be able to send emails to customers using one account, but send notifications about system events from another account. For example, customers should see the sender as [email protected] but I don't want to get an email _from_ Sales@, I'd rather get it from Notifications@.

I'm fairly certain I could hardcode this change but is there an existing patch to allow for this?

The system is currently hard-coded to use the EMAIL_FROM address in most of those cases.
This may change in the future.

In the meantime, if it's a big deal for you, you could alter all the modules that are sending you debug data and change their zen_mail() function calls to use a different email address for your specific needs.

Granted, once your testing phase is done, you likely won't see diagnostic emails because you'll turn them off, and then it becomes largely a moot point.
