    Default Shared SSL

    Hello everyone,

I am a neewbie here and I am hoping someone can shed some light on this question. I am in the process of installing zencart and I have come to the section: SSL Details in the System Setup.

Now I know that my clients site has a shared ssl which is:

    https://secure.netsolhost.com/blackflameclothing.com

so the catalog will be installed at:

    https://secure.netsolhost.com/blackflameclothing.com

Now do I put this info in the "HTTPS Domain" Box or "HTTPS Server URL

Also do I Enable SSL and Enable SSL in Admin Area?

    Thanks
    Rick

    Don't bother.

If you're using Network Solutions for your hosting, you won't be able to get SSL to work for your Zen Cart site.

Networks Solutions has an unconventional SSL configuration and hasn't been able to fix the issue despite our many attempts to help them do that.

Matters not, because I have YET to see a shared SSL NOT throw some type of partial encryption or error.

Fact is... You need a proper private SSL not to scare IE customers away... Especially IE 6.X

Rickmann08, I just want to clarify ... I wasn't referring to shared-ssl in particular. I was referring to Network Solutions being unable to properly handle SSL with Zen Cart sites. Period. They just can't do it. Shared or purchased, same problem. It's not the certificate. It's the host.

What is the problem with netsol? I actually have a couple of customers registered at netsol and SSLs are fine... We didn't even buy theirs, running Comodo.

Here is one for example http://www.thesatelliteshop.net/

Just curious, in case I run in to an issue down the line.

As I said earlier, we haven't. They've been consistently uncooperative for years.

I'm getting the secure/non-secure error in IE7. too. It's caused by the RSS image at the bottom right. You may have to move that image to the template image folder.
