Default MYsql 5 and version 1.3.7

I need someone to confirm with me that my version 1.3.7 will work after my server does the upgrade FROM mysql4 to mysql 5. I had to upgrade my zen last time when they went from mysql3 to 4. I know I should upgrade to 1.3.8 but want to wait till 1.4 comes out as I pay someone to do the upgrade for me.

Is there still a forum that has commercial help... used to be one..

    Ta

v1.3.7 should be reasonably compatible with MySQL 5. HOWEVER, since MySQL 5 *usually* also comes with PHP5, you should confirm whether PHP5 is also part of the planned upgrade. If so, you'll need to make some adjustments to your 1.3.7 site to handle PHP 5.

They tell me the PHP is 5.2 now... I went into zen and clicked on version and here is what came up ..

    Server Up Time: 07:17:10 up 211 days, 1:57, 0 users, load average: 2.25, 1.76, 1.56
    PHP Version: 5.2.6 (Zend: 2.2.0)
    HTTP Server: Apache

there is a lot more stuff but I think that tells the story... so you think I will be ok ??

You should be OK, but the only way to be sure is to test on your specific server, which is clearly not feasible until the upgrade takes place.

However, the risks of a problem are small, though they would be smaller still with 1.3.8. But as hosts configure their servers in different ways, nobody can give you a 100% guarantee without a test in situ.

You should be fine. You may run into the occasional MySQL error on the admin side, but those can be sorted out quickly on the forum.

I would of course recommend doing some test purchases to fully test all aspects of the shopping cart immediately after the upgrade, to be sure you know first-hand whether your customers will see any problems.
