International Shipping by Weight/Per Unit

Hey Everyone!
I'm trying to set up my cart's shipping properties to charge by weight(Per Unit module) and to have international shipping capabilities. The heavier the package, the more the shipping - and, the farther the destination, the more the shipping.

Thanks to Ajeh, I ran the PHP code INSERTS and now I have a zone called NOT US.

What I need to know is:
Do I set up the Per Unit shipping module for the NOT US zone? or do I set that up in the Zone Rates module? Do I have to do something under Location/Taxes-Zones?

Help?!

The shipping method that you do NOT want the US to use should have the zone for NOT US applied ...

You will need to test this to ensure that this works properly for those that you do want for the US ...

Always test zones and review them to ensure that their detail is broken down the way you want them to function ...

OK, so I was able to set up the Per Unit shipping module for the zone called Not US, like so:

I also have the Zone Rates module activated for the US and Canada. US shipping prices/zones work great!, But...

The shipping rates for international WERE working based on doing these things: 1. Running the patch mentioned in my original post to create the zone definition, Not US.
2. Setting up the Per Unit shipping module as shown above.
It was working....then,

As I was changing the product weights and refreshing the 'estimate shipping' popup to fine tune the shipping charges something went wrong and now there are no zone rates for other countries. The shipping estimator now says, for example:

BASEL-STADT SWITZERLAND
Available Shipping Methods Rates
Per Unit (Best Way) $45.00
Zone Rates (No shipping available to the selected country)

Whereas before I was tweaking around with the product weights the results would be a Zone Rate with a country code and a calculated rate. Before, there was no option for Per Unit, and I don't want there to be.

Anyone know what happened to my international Zone Rates?

Or any other way to charge internationally, per pound?

There must be a ton of carts who ship internationally by weight, please?

You have your Per Weight Unit charge set to 5 ...

This means when you enter the products_weight at 1, you will get a $5.00 charge ...

Check your Shipping/Packaging settings on the Tare Weights as usually these should be 0;0 as weight is not really weight any more ...

Also, check the Maximum Value as the default is 50 and since you are using Per Unit perweightunit you would most likely want to raise this up to something like 5000 so it is not factored in ...

Your info on the tare weights took care of the shipping weights being larger than the product weight thing - a side issue I'd noticed.
BUT, I'm still not getting zone rates for other countries. I now get this message when I enter United Kingdom in the shipping estimator:

UNITED KINGDOM
Available Shipping Methods Rates
Per Unit (Best Way) $50.00
Zone Rates (The shipping rate cannot be determined at this time) $0.00

(This was for 10 lbs. I don't want the Per Unit to show up. I want ONLY the Zone Rates to show, however they aren't working)

Is there something I have to do with the double zeros (00) on the Zone Rates module?

When it did work, before I broke it somehow..., I'd get something like this (as best I can remember):

Shipping quotes are based on the address information you selected:
UNITED KINGDOM
Available Shipping Methods Rates
Zone Rates (Shipping to UK (1 x 10.00lb(s)))=[$ value]

Any Ideas?

PS-When it was working the rate changed when I changed the country.
UPDATE Now, if I put the 00s in the zone rate with the US I get zone rates for other countries, however its the same rates as the US, and changing countries doesn't affect the rate...
Still stuck....
