Default Moving Zen Cart to root directory query

I have developed a ZC site in a subfolder of the root directory which contains the existing site.
I now wish to disable the existing site and liven/activate the new site.
Do I need to relocate/move the ZC hierarchy of files to the root directory which is one level higher?
And presumably remove the existing/old index.html file.
I assume that I then need to modify the contents of the two config.php files as described in many posts.
Is this all that I need to do?
Do I actually need to relocate all of the files, or can my objective be accomplished with just a reconfiguration of the two config.php files?
    What is the recommended procedure?
Thanks in advance for any clarification on this subject.

Relocate all folders and files. It's not as complicated as it sounds. There's more info at https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/i...hp?article=122
