Changing Hosts Question

Hosting accounts are tied to Domain names and most any script can be used with that Hosting account & Domain name. But they are definitely all connected and treated as one.

What do you mean? Can't I just go to wherever he (friend that opened the DH acocunt for me through his acocunt) registered the domain, login, and change the nameserver to point to the new hosting company? I mean, I shouldn't lose the domain name because I switched hosting companies, right? Or do you mean that even though I change the nameserver, the site may still not work because of where the domain was registered/tied to?

I would definitely like some more input on that.

No, your original question seemed to indicate that you wanted the root domain on one host, and the Zencart folder from that domain on another. You can't do that.

You can certainly move the domain to a new host (by changing name servers as you suggested) and then add the Zencart folder to the new host.

Stevesh, Yeah, you're right - you were answering the first question I asked. I must have just mentally checked out for a moment there.

Alright, well I think I'm gonna pick up a new host then.

Dang. Oh well. At least it's not the end of the world.
