Default product image location?

I have searched and read the book, and have not been able to determine if there is a way to setup a:

Default Image Upload Location by Product Type

Or any other way to set up a default location for uploading product and category images.

Even if I have to edit a file or two, what do I need to change? Where?

Product images default to "main" and this is /images
There is a drop box for location and this is also availale in the category area for you to select location from

That I totally understand, I was just thinking out loud that it would be nice to not have to select it EVERY time, and I was making sure that I wasn't missing something.

I would be interested in the answer to this too as I was just hunting for one. I would like my default not to be 'main directory' but 'previews' which is a subfolder of images that I have created. Is this possible ????

Add me to the queue! I've also been trying to find a way to change the default setting in collect_info.php from the main directory to a directory of my choosing so that I don't have to manually change the drop down list every time I add a new product.

Does anyone have the answer to this please?

me too, i cant figure out how to edit the code correctly, i dont care if it doesnt have a drop down, as long as it went to the right folder, e.g. when using categories.php in admin images should be uploaded to categories, anyt idea?

Use at you own risk - but this will alter it:

Look to both of your configure.php files and change what is between the single quotes

Add me to the confused list. I had broken the pop up for the larger ones but managed to fix that.

But for some reason they are still displaying the 100 x 100 size on the larger pop up.

I have installed my own template...as in a new logo and changed the css to reflect my own colors. Added a background tile.

I am my own server/hosting company.

I have hunted high and low for the answer to this one. The answer isn't as clear as *I* would make it or *I'M* not finding the right thread. I've read thru the wiki. Did a side by side of my files with a clean copy of ZC and the only files that come up odd are the ones I KNOW I've changed.

The problem has been there from the beginning...it's just this problem's turn to get fixed. I've had other issues to worry about first.

Okay, file structure of my images as it stands right now:
images/attributes/xxxx.jpg (100 x 100)
images/medium/xxxx_MED.jpg (300 x 300)
images/large/xxxx_LRG.jpg (500x 500)

Live examples:
images/attributes/ASCCUPUDoodleOverlayPackage1Preview.jpg
images/medium/ASCCUPUDoodleOverlayPackage1Preview_MED.jpg
images/large/ASCCUPUDoodleOverlayPackage1Preview_LRG.jpg

If I click on the the image to see the larger image, I get a pop up box, but all I see is the 100 x 100 image.

My question after doing the side by side comparison...
WHERE are the small images suppose to be located if not in the attribute section? Seems that was the wrong spot for them and now I have no clue where they should be going.

I'm sure I'll break something else but in the meantime, it's working like it should for the time being. Liz
