Melanie, she has tried the AOL browser, Internet Explorer and Firefox, all without success (see original post). I should have stated earlier though that she can log in from a computer other than her own (ie: work computer). AOL states that they are not the issue, and our host states that we are not the issue.

Then she did in fact block the site herself... She needs a PC tech, its not your website.

Melanie, one other thing I just learned. She and her husband have different computers at home, both on a wireless network. Neither computer can log in. That leads me to believe that it actually is AOL and not her computer. What do you think?

If the PCs are networked they can still be blocking it in the router or firewall.... Either way, they are gone need a tech to crack this one. You see, FireFox should not be destined to the same hangups for this sort of thing like AOl or even IE... The fact that FF won't login either leads to the PC/Network.

rename the admin htaccess file and see if she can get in,
If that dosnt work then they may need to actually reset their router,
login to the router and reset renew the connection

I had something like this happen to one of our customers.
To fix the customer had to download and run ccleaner because cleaning the cache of there browser under windows leaves 7 days of junk.
Now to do a complete clean: Using ccleaner under Options -> Advanced you have to uncheck Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours.
This will remove all cached info right to the time ccleaner is run.

If they are using AOL (nicknamed A O Hell for good reason) as their ISP then it won't matter which Browser they use - they may still not be able to login. AOL operates differently to other ISPs and cache everything on their servers before delivery to the Browser - and they cache everything across a network of servers each with different ip addresses. So the images and page content for just one page could be cached across 20 different ip addresses. This makes it almost impossible for AOL to keep a session active.

But one other thing that can be tried, assuming that AOL is NOT the problem and that they use a PC and not a Mac - go to Start --> Run --> and type into the window that appears: /ipconfig flushdns and then click OK. This will flush the dns cache on your PC.

You should do this after deleting all Temporary Internet Files and all Offline Content from IE, and under Advanced Settings set your browser to always show you the latest version of any page you visit. Then use the Run command, and then shut down and restart your PC.
