    Turn on GZip ...

    Turn off Category Counts ...

Do you see any significant difference between products_id 1 and 8 now?

Once I add a picture of 29.07 KB to my product page it takes

Um ... you said "new install with easy populate and no additional add-ons". But ... your site seems to be using bmz_cache for images ... which would mean you have Image Handler installed.

You didn't mention Image Handler before. Turn that off, and your problem will likely go away.
And ... that would confirm that your server is having a hard time processing the image manipulation that Image Handler offers.

Idea or Suggestion Re: Please check out my store, tpl_product_info_display.php loads slow, why?

yes, at the time of writing it didn't have image handler, I just threw that on a couple hours later to test it out...

I also removed the php involved with loading the picture, so the product image is picture-less.

    deleted everything in tpl_modules_main_product_image.php

, still it was very slow 12 sec. With no pictures, so strange...

I will turn on GZIP now.

    Thanks for the advice!

I found an awesome page to show you the GZIP results, wow 77%!

    http://www.gidnetwork.com/tools/gzip-test.php

    Web page compressed? Yes
    Compression type? gzip
    Size, Markup (bytes) 25,382
    Size, Compressed (bytes) 5,626
    Compression % 77.8

I enabled it in Configuration , GZIP

But unfortunately my product pages still load slow, close to the same time. Other pages are quick though :)
