help question configure.php not found error

Hi - I'm in the process of upgrading from ZenCart 1.3.7 to 1.3.8 and I'm getting the 1.3.8 version all set up in a subfolder before we transfer to that version. I've added two mods - one for Sales Tax, and one for FAQs, but when I try to go to either page on the admin side I get this error:

ERROR: admin/includes/configure.php file not found. Suggest running zc_install/index.php?

I've checked the file permissions and they are 644. The site isn't showing any other errors, I just get access the two new mods. Any guidance greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Cait

Did things work before you added the mods?

Well that's the funny thing - everything works *except* the mods. So yes, everything worked before the mods were added, but it continues to do so. I'm now up to three mods and they're all exhibiting the same behavior - when I load their specific pages (added via the mods to the admin panel) they report the error:

ERROR: admin/includes/configure.php file not found. Suggest running zc_install/index.php?

Presuming the front-end of your site works fine, do you still get the same error/problem if you switch to the Classic Template?

Were there any configuration files for these Mods?

The front end does work just fine. The error started when I was working on my custom template, but I switched to the Classic template just to check and there's no change. I've checked the site in both Firefox and Safari, on two separate computers. I'm able to log in and out of the admin side, no problem. I just reviewed all the mods - TinyMCE, USPS Auto-Fill, Monthly Sales Tax Summary, Image Handler 2, and Zen FAQ manager, and I don't see any configure.php files - the closest is the config.php file in the ibrowser folder of TinyMCE.

Thank you both for your quick responses, I really appreciate any guidance you can offer!

"I switched to the Classic template just to check and there's no change"

I take that to mean the problem is still there?

As access to the Admin side is required to correct the situation, meaning the fix is up to you I can only suggest you uninstall all problem Mods and get back to a fully working Admin. Then install one mod at a time, immediately double checking to see if any errors. If yes, then you know the problem is somewhere within the Mod.

These type problems can be troublesome to correct but there is no other method then simply getting in there to see exactly what is going on.

Good luck and hopefully, your troubleshooting will go quick.
