bug Please check out my store, tpl_product_info_display.php loads slow, why?

My page seems to be a decent speed, but when it goes to load tpl_product_info_display.php it hangs after it displays the price... Any idea why it would lag like that?

Categories and other parts of the page seem to load fast, it's just the product pages that seem slow... So strange, even the picture loads pretty quick, just the rest of the text seems slow.

oh yeah, maybe the link would help...

(check it out, then click on Products, a car, then a product, and you'll see the lag)

    Here's the parse time...

    Parse Time: 13.390 - Number of Queries: 2014 - Query Time: 0.79389893411255

Reduce image sizes..some are 38000k...should be less
than 100k...and you have lots of images..look at sizes..add
up those for one page..result = slow loading

I agree they are big , but the strange thing is that when I load the category page, which has more pictures, it loads much faster, than the tpl_product_info_display.php page... Granted it's like 25 175x50 pictures versus 1 600x400 image, in total the smaller pics would take up more file space.

Which leaves me scratching my head, why would the category page load at a decent speed, but when I load a product page it lags.. even though the category page is heavier..

Product page is pulling info, looking if attributes exist, so taking longer...
also try turning off category counts, both in category
    sidexbox and admin category counts..
seems to me you have several places where you could
    help pages to load quicker.

Images are greatly reduced in size, yet page load times are still about...

    Parse Time: 21.064 - Number of Queries: 304 - Query Time: 0.20056295793152

I also turned off category counts, anything else I should try?

Your database query counts and times are clearly not the bottleneck. In this example, the database portion of the page preparation amounts to only 0.20 second, but the rest of the page preparation took almost 21 seconds.

Thus, the page preparation time is being consumed with activities to process the data from your Image files, your PHP files, and the data received back from the database.

Maybe your server's filesystem (hard disk) is overloaded or running extremely slowly?
Maybe your image files are taking a long time to load up? Or maybe your server's PHP configuration isn't working properly when trying to handle image metadata?
Maybe you've got several addons installed that are changing how things operate? Have you tried turning off every addon you've added?
Maybe you've installed some sort of caching addon that's malfunctioning and actually making things worse instead of better?

You haven't indicated "when" the problem first started. How does the "when" compare with things like changes made to the site, addons installed, server upgrades by the hosting company, etc?

Idea or Suggestion Re: Please check out my store, tpl_product_info_display.php loads slow, why?

    Thanks for the great advice!

Ok, I've exported my items from my current store and imported them into a new install of zencart with easy populate and no additional add-ons.

So here's the weird thing, on my new cart a product page with no picture the parse time is 1.874 seconds.
    http://www.jdmcat.com/index.php?main...&products_id=1

Once I add a picture of 29.07 KB to my product page it takes
    a parse time 11.053 seconds
    http://www.jdmcat.com/index.php?main...&products_id=8

By this logic you'd assume that a page with 20 pictures of 29k each would take much longer to load, but it doesn't...
    http://www.jdmcat.com/index.php?main...dex&cPath=1_41
(check out all the large resized product images on this page!)
but the Parse Time: is 2.421

Is there a piece of code that tells the page to wait until the picture is completely loaded before processing the rest of the HTML? This seems soo strange to me. I suppose I could just make thumbnails, and batch them in photoshop or fireworks, but I'd really like to identify what's at the heart of this problem.

    Hmmmm. Quite unusual.

Does it still take as long on your test site if you physically delete the images from the server?
