    How do I sort the step 2/3 in check out?

    I would like to have gift coupons and othe discount coupons to be in the bottom of the page. Not so many have them anyway.

    I need clarification in order to answer your question.

    If you want these options to be listed last, all you need to do is go into the admin (payment modules) and change the sort order.

    If you want to completely move them to a different part of the page, then you need to know enough about php to be able to edit the php file.

    These are not in the payment modules.

    There is too much text and things to fill in the checkout process.
    I want the payment options to be before Discount coupons and gift certificate form. and in btw a "extra" button_checkout.
    So there would not be the need to scroll down to the bottom of the page.

    any way the gift coupons and so on forms wolud be visible enough below the checkout button so that would not be missed.

    Sorry about that, I meant to say order total modules - that is where you would adjust the sort order - but it sounds like that's not what you want to do anyway.

    I looked at your site, but the only way for me to see your check out page is to create a test account, which I can't do since I can't read the language.

    But it sounds like you're saying you want customers to be able to select their payment option before they enter any coupon or gift voucher information so they don't have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page in order to check out if they're not using those discounts. Is that correct?

    If that's correct, to do this would require some major reworking of the code. It is not advisable. Also, for those who do have coupons or gift vouchers...if they select payment option first, they will be taken to the next step automatically and will miss the opportunity to get a discount.

    I can't see a way you can accomplish what you desire, but perhaps someone here with more code experience will have an idea for you.

    As an alternative, have you thought about editing the language files for the various sections of the check out page to tell them to just scroll down to the bottom if they want to skip that other stuff and go right to check out?

    Or perhaps you could elect to show your "buy now" buttons on the main page, and then substitute the links for those buttons for a paypal express link - which would take them right to paypal instead of going through your check out process.

    But in all honesty, I think your best bet is to leave it as it is. But again, perhaps someone with more code knowledge than I can help you out in this regard.

    No need to be sorry. you got my question pretty right.
    it seems that i will have to leave as it is. also thinking of deleting GVs.
    whos buying them anyway? it really has to be a super shop for anybody to something like that I think.
    Only thing I see it usable for is that I make my Gvs my self and send them to customers as a present or something.

    What comes to check out I´ve started an earlier thread where i aske about sortin the whole thing with registration as last step..
    but it was too complicated for me.

    For some reason onlu 2/3 of the registrant completes the order. And i dont know why.

    there is three payment options
    - prepayment
    - Paypal
    - invoice with 14day time to pay (+3,50€)
    it should be enough

    Yes, GVs aren't really big sellers, but before you delete...maybe think about making them seasonal? Disable them during "off" seasons perhaps? I'm thinking Christmas is a huge GV season, and depending on your products offered, other times of year like Mother's Day, Father's Day or some other gift giving holiday might be good for GV sales.

    On the other hand, if you make your own and send them out as you are thinking about doing, it's a tax write off every time someone redeems one, because it's a marketing expense (at least in the U.S. - not sure about other countries).

    2/3 huh? There's a handy little mod that might help you learn why they're not completing their orders. I've installed it on my site and look forward to launching to find out how effective it is. I modified the language file to fully customize it, but the general idea is this:

    When a customer empties their cart, they are redirected to a page that asks them why. The mod offers two options to use. One redirects them to an anonymous feedback page, the other to a 'save the sale' page. I modified mine to serve both purposes at once.

    The mod is called Empty Cart Manager. Here's the link

    Mods like this could be usefull.
    I have no idea what they have had in their shopping cart. Or maybe they newer had anything..

    A mod or something in the admin that shows what people have latent waiting for completion could be interresting. or is that spying on personal issues ? : )

    In these paranoid times, I think the whole thing about an obligatory reigstration is not the best thing.

    Yes, I agree registration can make people paranoid...but here's the thing...they only have to register if they're going to buy right? So if they want to buy from you, you need to know who they are.

    I wrote some text for my registration page to explain why I was asking for the information and how it would and would not be used. Then I insert a link to a rather extensive privacy policy.

    If all of that, plus the site security and encryption doesn't reassure them, then they shouldn't be shopping online anyway and I'm not sure I want a customer that's going to cause me that much of a headache.
