System inspection results has a couple of errors - will they matter?

Installing Zen Cart on my shared hosting site on HostMySite. During system inspection, I get a warning and an error:

Warning is:
PHP API Mode = cgi-fcgi

Error is:
PHP Safe Mode = ON

Can I ignore these? I doubt that I'll get my ISP to turn safe mode off?

The errors did not matter for installation and setup. However, after I finished the install, I did find out from my host that I AM allowed to turn safe mode off, so I did.
