PayPal Payment Received, But No Order!

Overnight I got notification of a payment received, but there is no accompanying order. I also had 2 emails in my inbox with the title: ALERT: PayPal Express Checkout Error (). The contents of the email was:
- (28) Operation timed out after 60 seconds with 0 bytes received

I'm not worried about figuring out what the customer ordered because his cart contents were in the payment email, and I have the shipping info, but I need to figure out what went wrong. I had 2 other PAYPALWPP orders yesterday and nothing went abnormally.

I am having the same problem!!! Received 3 orders today paid with PayPal but no order has come through, just the payment. Now I have to contact those customers and say "thanks for the money....what did you order!?"

My client had the same problem yesterday. Lucky for him their orders were also included in the Paypal email report.

Also, the weird thing is those 4 missing yesterday have now appeared in our Orders list. I'm not sure yet if my client asked them to re-order, or if their Orders were confirmed late. One transaction has this comment:

PayPal status: Completed @ 10:01:31 Nov 04, 2008 PST (GMT -8)

But the Date Added field (the date the order was added to the DB) was 11/05/2008 01:53:18 (GMT+1)

10:01:31 Nov 04, 2008 PST = 19:01:31 Nov 04, 2008 GMT+1


So I think the order showed up late?

Have you contacted PayPal? Seems they may have had a server problem yesterday according to another post elsewhere on the forum.

I've had the problem today as well as one of my clients.

Strange thing is it also happened with Google Checkout.

But this is the email FROM these payment systems and shouldn't have anything to do with Zen Cart. I believe this is a different problem than what others are posting?

I just received my very first payment from PayPal... but like everyone here... No order!!!

I use PayPal Australia.

Is this a temporary PayPal problem... should I wait before I contact my customer and ask what they ordered?!

I have a feeling that my case was Paypal's fault...completely out of the blue, the timeout email, and no problems since would point to that.

After successfully using paypal on my zencart since August, I had a glitch for the first time last night. I recieved payment but my site didnt have any orders. So I tested with an order of my own from an account that I have set up for personal orders, and it didnt go through. Payment was processed though.

So I found this thread and saw that Paypal had the following error:

Eventually the real customer order processed, only after I contacted her and refunded her her money. I then had to send a request for money from her so I could process her order. I felt so bad doing this to her, but thankfully she didnt cancel her large order with me.

Anyway, the two test orders I place last night, never turned up. Money is sitting in my business paypal account. So I did another order this morning. And there is still a delay, took about 1 minute for the money to transfer, and 15 minutes for the order to show up on zencart. The order number shows that those 2 test orders placed last night dont even exist.

Anyway, my point and question. How often does Paypal do this? Is this going to be an ongoing problem with them? I cant afford to lose sales like this.

And can anyone recommend an affordable payment option that is easy to set up in zencart like paypal was? I have only been in business since August, and while business is growing very nicely I dont want to have to lose all profits in payment processing fees.
