Problems with shipping

I am just testing the website and having a problem with shipping. For some reason it always adds 3lbs to the shipping weight. If I enter a product and put 2lbs for the weight of the item, it comes through fine. When I go to the front side of the website and look at the product, it shows 2lbs. When I go to check out, under the USPS and UPS, it shows 5 lbs. Even when I change the numbers, it always adds 3lbs. to the shipping weight. Anyone know why?

Yes. It's called the tare and is the amount over the weight of your products added for packaging.

You can adjust it in the Admin > Configuration > Shipping/Packaging menu.
