Can CRON be used to update currencies?

I was wondering if I point a CRON to mydomain.com/admin/currencies.php?page=1&cID=5&action=update will my currencies automatically update?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe, but there's a more general utility to do this in the downloads section that may be a safer bet.

If you go to the downloads section and search for currency, it's the 2nd one down.

where do we get the cron job written? does anyone know how to write a cron job for this currency updater? Thanks for any help everyone..

Ask your web host. Often it's as easy as filling the target php file and the frequency into a form in your hosting account's control panel. But the facilities available will vary from host to host.
