Permissions in Admin based on Manufacturers?

I see that the Admin Settings mod allows you to specify categories for users. Does anything exist that would allow you to restrict admin access to products by a specific manufacturer?

I am wondering if it's possible to set up permissions so that manufacturers could enter their own products in admin.

I think it could work, security-wise, if permissions could be set up by manufacturer, so that a manufacturer would then just have permission to add/edit/delete products designated as their own.

Does anything like this exist? If not, do you think it is something that is possible to be programmed?

I already have the Admin Profiles installed and it doesn't have this capability.

I see that Admin Settings is another mod that allows you to designate specific categories - so that is closer! But still not what I need.

Any other thoughts?
