    Default Changing Font Color for Product Description

    Hello Everyone
    I have read many posts on how to change the font color and I thank you for informing he how to do it. The problem is that I can not seem to find where the code is located on my stylesheet to change it. I had someone else build my website and I believe he set the font to black, but I changed my background color to black and now I can not see the description. Can someone please help me find where this is located and if he didnt add this code, can you please assist me with the correct coding I need to add. Thank you again for all your help. You all are a true blessing.

    Hi Monk,

    Product descriptions are written through the admin panel. There is a built in text editor. All you need to do is go into the description, highlight the text, and select the font color of your choice from the tool bar.

    You can find product descriptions in admin --> catalog --> categories/products --> "Your Category" --> "Your Product"
    Go that extra mile, you never know what's at the end of the road

    Script Junkie-
    Thank you so much. I will fix it as soon as I can fix my biggest problem. Not sure but maybe you could help me with this one..

    I posted this question in another thread but I am not sure if anyone can help me. Please understand we know nothing about code so we are in panic mode. We tried to change the "author" to our url and leave the generator as Zen Cart, but it didnt work so we changed it back and now we have a blank white screen and our site is gone. I dont think you can view the site to help us because there is nothing there, but is there a way to send you or anyone a screen shot or copy of the code so someone can tell us how to fix it. My wife used MS Word to view the code and that was probably our biggest mistake.

    here is our site just in case www.divinechishirts.com

    Much Gratitude for any assisitance.

    It's almost certainly the fact that you used Word to edit the file.

    Never edit PHP files with anything but a text editor. I use Notepad most of the time.

    Try opening the file in Notepad and check for blank spaces at the beginning and end of the file. If there aren't any, post the contents of that file here.

    Stevesh,

    Thanks so much. I will tell my wife. She figured that was the wrong thing to do so she tried to correct it and use a different text editor, but then nothing showed up but a white page, so needless to say she is freaking out.

    We apprciate the info and will try that tonight.

    Here's the contents of my header_html document. I'm pretty sure it's all messed up from using the wrong format to edit it and of course I made the newbie mistake of not backing up the original doc. But I appreciate the lessons I'm learning as well as the wealth of knowledge I'm gaining from this forum. Many thanks!

    Hi there

    Just noticed that you have to ammend the font colour in admin rather the the css (for the product info). Do you know any way of mass-editing it all to the same colour? Reason being I just overhauled my site and now use a black background instead of white and I have a LOT of info to go through and change 1 by 1 if not.

    Thanks

    Oh and Hi (1st post)

    You do not have to change the font colour of product descriptions in admin. It is possible, but as you point out, it's not wise.

    If the regular text colour is not working in that part of your pages, then break out the proper ID or class in your stylesheet and apply a colour there. For example ...

    #productDescription { color: #9FAC90 }

    Change the colour to suit.

    Great, done that now - saved me a LOT of work!

    One other question, may as well ask in here rather than start a new thread;

    Im finding it hard to change the text colour of in info text in the gift certificate sections, the firefox tool kit addon I usually use doesnt find any css info on it .. and I cant find the info through admin either.

    I read somewhere that it is ok to ask different questions in a thread as long as the questions pertain to the topic of the thread, which yours do. I am glad you asked the question, because I have a black background and was going to change the font color in my style sheet then I was told the admin, but was wondering how to do it that way without changing one by one and now I realize it is easier to do it through css. So, thank you for asking.
