troubles setting up downloadable music

I give up on this one. I he tried to follow instructions on how to set this up but i dont seem to be getting anywhere. only one time did i manage to get a file in the download manager but the status was a red dot (missing file name). tried changing the attributes but still can not get the music to download. Please help?????

I have set up a test category, Set up a product. set up th attributes according to the insttructions. there is one item showing in Download Manager but its status says , missing file name. I am a bit concerned that i added a couple of songs 3MB each one mp3 one Zip. but I can not find these on my server. It says that its uploading to the main media folder but I can not find the files in Media or download folders. I think i am on Ver. 1.3

The files should be loaded to:
/download

The filenames should be Zip files and contain no spaces, special characters etc.

The filenames are case sensative so be sure that you are writting them identical to how they are spelled in the /download directory on your server ...

Check the permissions of the /download at 755 and the filenames themselves at 644 ...

Make sure both your configure.php files are referring to the same paths, directories and database in:
/includes/configure.php
/admin/includes/configure.php

Also, look in your Zen Cart Admin for the version in the Tools ... Server Info ...

What does it say from below the menu bar and up to and including the large PHP Vx.x.x

I have looked in \Download but the files are not there. I have added the files using media manager from the extras option. Do I need to add these manually or through an ftp program. in media manger its showing two products linked to collection but zero linked clips

Not much will be available for Download if you do not upload the files to your site ...

You should FTP the files to the /download directory and ensure that you are not using spaces, special characters etc. on these filenames ...

Then on the Attributes, the filenames must match identically ...

Being on a Windows Server you will not be able to use the more secure Redirect ON in the Attribute settings and will need to turn this setting to OFF ...

NOTE: the media clips are short demo clips of the music ... the Download itself is the full copy ...

Perhaps you are mixing them up?

Thanks very much I have successfully downloaded a full 3MB song. Is ther a way to preview the music before downloading. I have noted the sdifference between media clip and the full download

I have now created a new category called music. I can browse to this category OK from the customer side of the shop. and it shows fine that there are no items in the categorywhen browsing from the category box. but when i add an item into the category i get the following '

This seems to be happening for both general productsa and music.

Any help would be appreciated
