Item spacing problem

I recently put a discontinued item on sale. No problems there. Creating the sale was easy and straight forward. My issue comes with the way the two text lines that SaleMaker adds to the item effect the grid spacing. Please check the following page to see what I mean:

The addition of the extra lines ("Sale: $74.95" and "Save: 21% off") throws off the spacing for the rest of the page. There is now a big space below the item in question (Asics 2130) that makes everything look haphazard and thrown together. Definitely not the look I was going for. The link above is to the "men's stability" page. I'm having the same problem on the correlating women's page as well.

I would like everything to lay out like it was before (for an example please see: https://runnersdenaz.com/store/index...ex&cPath=12_15) in a nice even grid while still maintaining the sale info.

Any ideas?

I just encountered another problem while trying to fix the first problem...

I thought that setting the sale item as a "Special" instead of using SaleMaker, I might end up with a different layout. I have never used the Specials feature, so I clicked on Admin/Catalog/Specials, and...

Nothing happens. I end up staying on the main Admin screen. Is there something in the background I need to do in order to enable the Specials feature?

I am using the most recent version of Zen Cart.

Everything I can think of has been reinstalled and updated. I am still unable to find a solution for the two issues listed above. Any assistance or advice that anyone can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I figured out the "Specials" problem. While adapting our template to our existing site, some of the changes we made disabled the specials function. No worries on that end. I still haven't found a solution to my initial problem regarding the spacing. If anyone can offer any advice, it will be greatly appreciated.

I messed with the settings, and nothing happens. I've checked IE and FF, and no matter what I set the 4th digit to, the layout remains identical... I have no idea why. Anyone else have any ideas?

Pity about that - I guess the fact is that the "Sale Item"
Sale: $74.95
Save: 21% off
is taking the extra Space - so the only way I imagine might work is to take the Sale items out of the "Men's Stability" category - and put them in a "Sale category" of their own - all products in there would then have the 2 extra lines of text - unless there is a switch some where to only display sale items on a separate (dedicated sale item) page ?

I have been considering doing that. The only problem is that I would need to remove the Manufacturer and the Model information from them or they would still show up if a customer uses the drop down menus to filter the products. In the end, I am going to have to choose the lesser of the evils...

Leave things how they are and be irritated every time I look at it, or...

Create the sale category, and lose the ability to have our customers see the sale when they search by manufacturer or model...

I know what you mean - I get real annoyed at things I cannot control like that - my wife thinks it's sometimes a failing - thinks it better to let it go and get on with more important problems - I see it as "attention to detail" - but see her point - and I guess as time goes by - you maybe have to "let it go" - (She does some running too BTW - although that is not gonna help with this problem )
