    Default CSS and SSL - need insight to this problem

    I am running V1.3.8 with the Classic template using shared ssl. The store works great on Bluehost but my problem is that in Firefox the store seems to lose the CSS settings when it switches to the ssl pages. This does not happen in IE. Anyone have any suggestions? You can see the site at:

    http://southerngardenscents.com

    the problems start when you click the log in link...

    Thanks in advance for any advice!

    Have you got 2 copies of the site?
    Your base href is changing as you change URLs:

    Without SSL
    <base href="http://southerngardenscents.com/" />

    With SSL
    <base href="https://secure.bluehost.com/~southfc6/" />

    Buy a certificate.
    You can get them for, like, 20 dollars a year.
    It'll save all these problems.

    I've always used the shared ssl without a problem and the URL has always been different. I would like to find and fix the problem. This only started when I upgraded to V1.3.8.

    Since Shara hasn't got an answer I'll add that I too am having a problem with my shared ssl since the upgrade to 1.3.8a I seem to remember something about some fix but can not find it here in the forum. My server tech support tried to find a problem but we could not.

    My issue is that when I go to the log in page, for ever after in my clicking through the site it adds my ssl url to all the links. They are all relative links. I've checked my paths inconfigure files and they match what I was using with the same certificate and 1.3.0.2

    I'm on a Windows server. My server does not run apache.

    This is what I have always thought but the only way I was able to fix this was by specifying absolute links in my custom css menu...I know..I know...get with the program....I'm really working on that...but Why would my logo.gif url take on the ssl certificate base from those pages secured?

    First, validate your html and see if that helps. http://validator.w3.org/check?verbos...af81aa1673cc26

    I am still using the classic layout and using the shared SSL. The font goes wild when I went into a secure page, but not every single time. I have no problem with buying a certificate, I just wondering whether it will solve the problem permanently. As for the validation, I use the HTML validator addon in Firefox and it shows a very pleasant checkmark

    Opps ... I just read

    https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/i...hp?article=235

    ... I using .htaccess for my password protected directory for testing Zen Cart. I will see if the problem continues when it goes live.

    An update to this issue. It is definitely bluehost.com. I've been moving several of my sites to this hosting company and all of them are having the same problem. The latest thing is that after the second page of the checkout process using the shared ssl the CSS sometimes works. But this has not been consistent.

    I just ran into this problem myself, Shara did you find a solution?
    Also to add to the confusion, this wasn't a problem back in March when I first installed Zen Cart on the clients bluehost account? They put the project on hold so I hadn't touched the installation for over 9 months, visited it today and noticed this problem.

    Thanks,
    Jim
