help question Upgrade Problem and Simple SEO Url

I am trying to upgrade from 1.3.7 to 1.38 and was able to create a new store in a new folder. I added the simple seo url module and all was fine the URL's displayed appropriately.

When I imported my database, I got the database error of: "Your database has errors and needs udated. Please see server/version info for details (It was very close to this anyway)" So I ran the install script but just updated the database like recommended in the forums here. It did work.

My problem is with simple SEO Urls. All my URL's now in the updated store are showing cooky addresses. Please see my new store: http://www.lasilhouettelingerie.com/store/ Hover over any link and you will see the problem.

Now when I look in my control panel under configuration, the box that says: Simple SEO Url settings is completely missing (after database import and repair). I have tried to re-installl this Simple SEO URl module several times but it does not work. I keep getting these kooky URL strings. And why does the controller box completely disappear in the control panel>configuration even after re-uploading?

    Please help!

Try clearing your SSU cache in admin, if it doesnt work, it is more likely that somehow you wiped out the config settings of SSU when you did the update.
Check admin->configuration->SSU settings and see if everything is still there.

PS: now that I read your post more carefully, you should go to your phpmyadmin, go to a table named version_tracker (or zen_version_tracker something), and EMPTY this table. Now go back to Extras->SSU Manager, and the module will be reinstalled automatically for you. Now go to admin->configuration->SSU settings to change the setting again

BTW, this is not supposed to happen when you do the upgrade, something must have gone wrong.

Also, next time post issue related to this module in its support thread, otherwise I may miss it.

    Yellow,

    Wow that was quick!

I am able to clear the module_version_tracker in php my admin. When I went to the control panel and went to Extras/Simple Seo Module it reinstalled the program correctly. Then the controller box showed back up under configuration and I set it to true. All is working perfectly. Thank you so much!

While I have you on, would you check out my storefront again? Do you see this warning on top: Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /home/lasilhou/public_html/blah.blah.blah/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk

I know that i have it set in my hosting control panel to 444 and set correctly in filezilla but it won't go away for me. It must have to do with cache. Do you see this warning?

You should try to change it via your host control panel (on some host settings, you can not change a file permission to 0444 on ftp, I know mine doesnt allow me to do that).

If it still doesnt go away, re-check the file current permission, sometimes it seems that no matter what you do the permission remains unchanged. In this case, contact your host.

Also, make sure that you change both configure.php files in the catalog and admin as well (for good security reason)

Yeah it is showing 444 in the hosting cotrol panel and my filezilla. I think is just has to do with the cache.

Once again thank you for your quick help. Your module truly is awesome and I thank you for your contribution to the zen cart.

I see that you have 2 stores, 1 under root, and 1 under /store/, just make sure you did not change the wrong one.
Otherwise, if it's a caching issue(I highly doubt that tho), we may have to wait and see.

    Regards

Yeah I have been very careful. The root store is the old and the /store/ is the new. Since updating to v1.38 having a store in the root for testing is difficult. So I did make the switch like recommended to having it in another folder. Once completed the root store will be deleted.

Have been putting this off for a long time but the new version of zen is much better for future changes.
