can't get into admin!

I've had a website around for a while and suddenly, I can't get into the admin at all. I haven't updated it in at least a month but when I want to the server, every single file was dated 11/3/08. Every file! I asked my hosting company what was going on and they just pushed it back as a zen-cart issue, ignoring my query about the files all having been touched (kind of like they were restored from backup and someone forgot to set the original date - weird). I had a peek at my admin/index.php file and it looks untouched. All that happens if I try to navigate to anywhere within the cart admin is it gives a blank screen and says "Connecting to <host>", then times out. The user end is fine. What's next?

Make sure the database name and passwords match in these two files..

1. includes/ configure.php
2. includes/ admin/ includes/ configure.php

You rock. That wasn't it; like I said, I hadn't touched anything recently so the paths weren't going to suddenly be off. But I chose to not renew my SSL for that website. I just turned off SSL in that very file. I never ever would have figured that out in a million years. Now to remember the password......not stored in my browser history since the path names is different.
So weird that every file on my server was touched.... oh well. A total red herring.
