Default Changing domain to another name within same host

HI. I want to change my ZC domain from say abc.com to def.com but still within the same host. What is the easiest way i can do this without having to reinstall ZC on the new domain and creating a new database?

Both domains are located on the same host and are add-on domains.
Is it possible to rename the abc.com folder under /public_html/ to def.com and still keep the database and everything else in tact?

I know i would need to modify some config files to reflect new domain name & email, but which files?

Is there anything else i would need to reconfigure?

    Much apprceiate your help.

    Mac.

Broadly you can do what you suggest. There's a step by step guide in the FAQ for a similar situation. You want to do a little more. There's also one for moving to a different server. You want to do a little less. But everything you need is in these two FAQ entries. And you're on the right track yourself anyway.

I have ZC installed on www.muteyaar.org/shopping
but I now wish to change my website to www.muteyaar.com

I have the second domain i.e. www.muteyaar.com parked on the same server as the first.
I am right now using the redirection for the purpose.
but I wish to transfer my zen cart to www.muteyaar.com.
I will be very thankful if any one can help me.

Will shifting all the files in shopping folder to the public_html folder of muteyaar.com work?
or I have to do something else also.
Please clarify in detail as I am a new user of zen cart and do not have much knowledge about this.
Will my listings be affected in my website and will google search them as it searches right now?

    please help me someone.

    many many thanks in advance.

The first link in my post just above already explains this step-by-step and in detail. You will also need to change the URL in your includes.configure.php file (2 places) and admin/includes/configure.php file (4 places), but it's very clear when you open those files what you need to do.
