Problem with required text field

Hi group,

We have added required text field option to a product. we are having two problems:

1. When product is added to the shopping cart while required text field is blank, no warning is displayed and the product is added to the cart as usual.

2. When there is another warning condition (e.g. there is a pull-down read-only option selected) warning is displayed and we stay on product_info page, however the text field/text area disappears and only its label is visible.


Any thoughts?

Are you using a custom 3rd-party template?

Yes, I am, however I replaced the files involved with original source (1.3.8) and still the same effect.
