red flag Problems with J-Query Template

    Hi guys,

Have a few issues with my page that are driving me crazy to figure out.

    1. CENTER ENTIRE PAGE
I have been up and down these forums looking for a solution to center my entire web page so that it shows up centered in Internet Explorer. I've tried a bunch of methods but I'm still unsuccessful. Strange thing is it shows up centered in Firefox, but not in IE.

    2. CENTER MY HEADER_BG SO IT ALIGNS WITH REST OF PAGE
I need to center my header_bg so that it aligns with the rest of my page. I have also tried a bunch of solutions but they have not worked out.

    3. CUSTOM SIDEBOX HEADER IMAGE CAUSED CODING TO APPEAR ABOVE AND ORIGINAL HEADING REMAINS
I'm trying to input custom images for my sidebox headers. I've managed to do this however the original header still shows up above my header image. Also, after I inputted the image, some coding appears above the header that I have changed " style="width: 180px"> " ( you can seen the sidebox for headers I've inputted an image which titles: Shop. but above still remains the original header and strange coding above that)

    5. REMOVE CONTROL FUNCTIONS OF SIDEBOX HEADERS
I would like to remove the move, collapse, closing controls on my sidebox headers.

    4. CHANGE FONT SIZE OF PRICE IN PRODUCT LISTING ETC
I have managed to change the size of the font for prices but now they are too small, if I change the font size, they end up just changing in the "all listing, new products, and the sideboxes but not in the content of product listing etc.)

Any help to the above issues on my web page will be greatly appreciated!!!

    My web page: HERE

    Thanks!

My guess would be that the 'hidden items' thing is causing a lot of your problems. How did you install it in the first place?

If it's part of your template, switch to the 'Classic' template temporarily to see it the issues go away.

On your page, below the search box the style definition shows.

    Advanced Search
    " style="width: 180px">

The BEST thing you can do for your shop, after the templates are all finished, fire it up, look at the source and copy the source into Dreamweaver (or any other HTML editor containing a means of checking the validity of your site HTML).

I went through your site-code with Dreamweaver and got too many errors to paste here.

    Thanks for the input guys.

stevesh, I tried to switch back to the classic template however all of the above issues are still appearing.

My main problems are centering the page for IE, centering my header_bg, and fixing up my sidebox headers.
In IE, my entire page is left justified, but
In Firefox, my entire page is centered, but my header_bg remains left justified.

These problems are driving me crazy!
    Any other ideas anyone?

Your html source looks like this:

    Code:
    <p>
      <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
Why do you have a <p> there?

yellow1912, thanks for pointing that out.
I have no idea why that <p> is there actually.
How would I get rid of that?

Well, I would look into the includes/your_template/commons/tpl_main_page.php and see if I can find it there.

If not, I may look in the html_headers file.

Idea or Suggestion Re: Problems with J-Query Template

There are so many errors, you need to fix them first to stop your layout breaking.

I'm attaching the error log from Dreamweaver, if you go through it, you should be able to fix your site.

One thing, in the first place I don't understand: Why did you chose the "ZenCart jQuery Silver" if you don't like the roll-up effects on the boxes? Using the classic template and only changing a few css and two images would have been much easier.

If your problems persist despite switching back to the classic template, you might have placed an override in the classic folder OR something else in your configuration is broken.

Did you try installing zen-cart to another folder and duplicating your DB for it? Of course the product images will be needed but otherwise you'd have a fresh start without the headache you are creating for yourself. I'm in the process of converting my old 1.23 version shop to 1.38a right now, and my database survived.
