Can't auto install ZenCart

There have been threads about this before but I have done everything they suggest.

I tried installing Zencart (Latest Version) and got half way through before install page closed and couldn't be re opened.

When I tried to install again I got a blank page (no code) with Done message.

I have now reinstalled freshly unzipped files to a new directory with FireZilla, set all permissions, Cleared Browser cache and deleted cookies and no install page appeared just blank with Done message again.

install_params.php Error reporting has now been set to 'true' and this is the message.

Fatal error: session_start() [<a href='function.session-start'>function.session-start</a>]: Failed to initialize storage module: memcache (path: /home/ql/qle/qled.com.au/public/www/catalog/cache) in /home/ql/qle/qled.com.au/public/www/catalog/zc_install/includes/functions/sessions.php on line 92

(cache permissions are set to 777)

PHP 5.2.6 with Zend engine support on Linux with Apache

Can anyone help please?

Zen Cart v1.3.x doesn't use memcache for anything.
You may need to change your PHP configuration (php.ini) to change your session.save_handler to use 'files' if it's been changed to 'memcache' for some reason.

And check to see whether you have any auto_prepend files set in your php.ini in case they are trying to access memcache for some reason.

Other than that, you'll need to talk to your server administrator for specific help in using the normal PHP session handling methods.
