    Default admin/index.php

    Warning: require(includes/application_top.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/namerbsg/public_html/zen-cart-v1.3.8a-full-fileset-12112007/admin/index.php on line 23

    Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'includes/application_top.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/namerbsg/public_html/zen-cart-v1.3.8a-full-fileset-12112007/admin/index.php on line 23

    Currently getting these 2 error messages after installaiotn. any help would be much appreciated.

    It seems you've got your permissions set wrong.

    All folders should be 755 and all files should be 644, with the few exceptions noted in your installation documentation.

    the admin/index.php file and the containing folder are both set correctly

    Well, the "permission denied" error is telling you otherwise.

    turns out it was the includes folder
