2 stores stores, 1 backend and database?

I need to create a 2nd store on a separate domain from a single zen cart site which has about 20 categories. The 2nd store will be populated by 2 categories from the main site.

The client already has the 2nd SSL purchased for the 2nd store. Is there a way link the 2nd store to the 1st store's database and restrict the catalog to 2 categories?

Any ideas how to do this or something similar?

There is a Multisite module in the Free Add-ons (link above) that may achieve this for you.
