Royalty/Commission Module?

I can't seem to find anything on what I need to do. Maybe one of you guys can help.

I'm looking for a module that will enable me to calculate a commission or royalty to a referrer (charity) based on the value of the customer's purchase on checkout.

I guess any sort of referral tracking mechanism that would enable a user to select predefined referrers from a check list or drop box would suit this purpose, or another way would be to have a standardized "common" code (like 'ASPCA') to generate a report so that I can direct the proceeds later.

The best way to do this is via an affilate tracking program. JROX JAM and POST AFFILIATE PRO are worth considering.

Ok, I know that the response to what I'm about to say is "you gotta spend some to make some", but I was looking for a freeware solution. Somehow it irks me to spend money on a module that will enable me to give away money.

Surely there's either a workaround (using Zen coupons and a reporting module of some sort?) or a freeware module out there, no?

As far as I am aware JROX has a free version that can enable up to 50 affiliates.

IDEV Affiliate (listed in the Recommended Services link above) is an option but I don't know how well this program is being supported these days.
