Attributes and sessions not working??

Ok ive been through quite a few threads and cant seem to comeup w/ the same problem, close but not dead on !!

i have installed attributes for tee shirt sizes, the attributes will work fine and show in the cart as long as the person is logged in to an account and go's directly to checkout. if the person logs out and back in, the attributes that belong to the item in their cart are lost?? been scrathing my head on this one, is it a session issue??

have double checked all my cache options, and all seems fine.

Zen Cart 1.3.7

PHP Version 5

Database: MySQL 4.1.22-standard-log

this is a database thats running 2 carts, but the issue happens on both
the carts are production and have been moded very heavily.
any help would be really appreciated.

What happens if you switch to the Classic Template?

On your current site, in the View Source, I see php code that should not be there ...

As a guest, I added things to the cart and then created my account and lost the attributes ...

Does changing Templates fix the problem?

thanks for looking!!! unfortunatly our cart has been modded so much, that when i switch templates i get nothin but php includes errors and errors of the type, which i totally understand. the cart does alot of things like checking stock amounts and pricing using sockets w/ the publisher and a drop shipping module directly to ingram books. so that would deffinatly explain the extra code.

Based on that, without going through your site and checking out the code and other issues ... this is really hard to track down ...
