How can I edit error messages

Hi,

I've got a client that wants particular verbiage used in one of the error messages that pertains to the message that comes up when someone tries to register using an email address that's already in the system belonging to registered user.

The current message says:
Our system already has a record of that email address - please try logging in with that email address. If you do not use that address any longer you can correct it in the My Account area.

What file to I need to access to change that message?

Try doing a search using the developers tool kit in your admin panel.

You can find it under tools-->Developer's Tool Kit

At the bottom you can search all files for that particular phrase:

Our system already has a record of that email address...

It will show you the files that contain that text and you can change it to whatever your client would like it to say.

It will return the following file:

includes/languages/english.php

Don't forget to upload the file back into your custom template so you won't lose the changes during future zen-cart upgrades.
