Web Service and Zen Cart

Greetings Zenners,

Has anyone dealt with implementing a web service into Zen Cart?

I'm trying to create a web service. I have added new web service files to the zen folders shown below.

http://www.xyz.com/admin/
http://www.xyz.com/ <---root
http://www.xyz.com/includes
http://www.xyz.com/includes/modules/
http://www.xyz.com/includes/modules/lib/
http://www.xyz.com/lib/

My question is, will I run into any problems accessing these folders through the cloud? I'm going to test this in a cloud environment, however, I wanted to know if anyone has run into any major hurdles implementing a web service (security, accessibility, etc).

Hi,

Theres not a lot of information to go on from your post. Are you intending for Zen Cart to be a provider or consumer of the web service? Will the web service need to access the Zen Cart database (read, write, both)?

Also what protocol do you intend to use, SOAP/REST etc?

If access to the Zen Cart DB is required then you will need to decide on an authorization scheme, especially if access is being granted to sensitive data.
