    Default PayPal/Nochex Payment Problems

    Hi All

I have been visiting this problem on and off for a month now and still cannot seem to crack the problem.

The problem I am having is when a customer pays via PayPal or Nochex, the payment is deposited into the relevant account, but no order transaction is posted to Zen Cart. Admin or customer order history etc.

I noticed, Paying by "Money Order" or "Cash on Delivery" works fine so Im thinking it must be something to do with the payment gateways, authority maybe.

    Site details as follows:

    Zen Cart 1.3.8a
    DB Patch Level 1.3.8
    - Fresh Installation Method

    CURL Support - Enabled

I have visited PayPal links and double checked settings.

I have double checked the NOCHEX settings (which is only a "Sellers" account at the moment)

After running the tools in the extra's folder I get mixed results:

Curl appears ok, but the paypal and nochex IPN_RETURN files dont appear to provide any information at all.

Any help would be much appreciated as it would be nice to get a friends website up intime for Christmas.

URL of site in question: www.mytimepiece.co.uk

    Many thanks in advance.

    Chris

Those are classic symptoms of the PayPal (or other gateway) server being unable to talk to your store to report a completed payment and activate the order.

Hi DrByte and thankyou for your reply,

Yes Ive read that section a few times now, and then again just now.

I also noticed that when I return to the shop after payment has been made, it brings up the last order (which I made using pay via money order) and not the the correct one.

If your not too tired I haved pasted the log files from the transaction if it makes any sense.....

The same kind of problem happens with NOCHEX which makes me think its something else ?

Never had this problem before and using the same hosting company as my other sites - strange.

Anyway, if you have any more suggestions I will welcome them with open arms..

    Many thanks in advance.

When you log into Nochex account, check the last transaction and see if there is a callback made or not.
That may indicate the problem there perhaps.
There should be a tick next to the transaction.

It seems your store has a 1.00 value for the order amount, but PayPal is treating it as 1.70, presumably because your PayPal account is adding shipping and/or taxes to the order after Zen Cart sends the transaction to them?

    Thanks CandleMan

There is a cross in the "Callback Status" box and the roll over text states "Callback Failed", that shows somethings wrong !!

Any ideas what could be causing it ?

Thanks Again for your reply DrByte,

From your reply I noticed something that the customer had put in. The "site wide, category & product mark up" module, which was and you gusessed it marking up all products by 70%. A £1 sale = £1.70.....

If it wasnt for you pointing out the details in the paypal log file I would have looked for ages, or forever ha ha.

I will have a scout around to see if anyone else is having the same problem with that module.

    Many thanks for your help.

There is an issue with paypal adding the tax twice (i have the same issue) causing a mismatch in the ordered amounts and therefore rejecting the payment but I think it is only in Paypal Express I think.
I don't have the same problem with nochex mind??

Transactions via PayPal Website Payments Standard/IPN will have any tax/shipping added as configured in your PayPal account, thus causing mismatches.
Express Checkout transactions are treated exactly as submitted.

    Hi DrByte

I have looked in the shipping/tax etc and cant find anything our of the ordinary.

Is there any reason you have seen why the markup module will not work ? I can seem to find any related issues to my problem so it suggests other people are using it without problems.

When i put the markup down to 0% the order goes through as normal. When I use the markup, it does not work....

    Sorry to be a pain
