Suddenly today the site will not correctly verify addresses (including my store return address) that are known to be good. Is anyone else having problems with this?
The click'nship module is working fine, this is a problem on the USPS side.
I'm having trouble too. This is the message that my zencart is showing during checkout:
We are unable to find a USPS shipping quote suitable for your mailing address and the shipping methods we typically use.
If you prefer to use USPS as your shipping method, please contact us for assistance.
(Please check that your Zip Code is entered correctly.)
USPS :censored: System wide crash 2.5 weeks before christmas??? Unbelievable.
For now I have enabled free shipping rather than risk losing customers. But there is still a long ttime out session while it tries to look up the zip code. I'm disabling USPS altogether until they get this matter fixed.
I am also seeing a problem with the USPS shipping rates. It seems to me that the USPS server is down. If I try to ping production.shippingapis.com (the USPS shipping api server), I get no response. Is anyone getting any response from the USPS apis?
Well, thank goodness it's not just me! I switched servers recently and I thought it was something to do with that.. I was going nuts trying to figure out what was going on! Grr.
Until this is working again, I have deactivated the USPS shipping module and implemented a flat rate shipping special. I'm probably losing money on shipping but at least I can accept orders during this busy holiday season time.
I just called USPS Internet Customer Care Center 800-344-7779 and there is a message that they are aware of the issues and it will be corrected by the end of the business day.
I'm out too!!! No USPS rates whatsoever, Express, Priority, etc. Customers are calling complaining about the high UPS rates offered for very small lightweight items, and why we don't offer Post Office delivery.
I've just set my sites to flat domestic and flat international rates for now until USPS gets their issues solved. Will probably lose money on shipping, but am at least still able to do business.
